The Company is pleased to advise that the AdelaideAqua consortium, which includes McConnell Dowell, has been named by South Australian Premier Mike Rann as the preferred bidder for construction of Adelaide’s new 50-gigalitre desalination plant to be built at Port Stanvac. The AdelaideAqua consortium companies comprise Australian-based McConnell Dowell, Spanish firm Acciona Agua, Abigroup and United Utilities. Together they will design, build, operate and maintain the plant for 20 years for South Australia Water. The company is pleased to announce the recent achievement by PT McConnell Dowell Indonesia of 250,000 man hours without a Lost Time Injury on the Toka Tindung Gold Mine Processing Facility The project is currently well into construction phase with multi disciplined work fronts being undertaken simultaneously with over 650 people including sub contractors working day and night shift to achieve the scheduled Gold Pour Date. The Company is pleased to advise that Qatalum ( Qatar Aluminium Limited ) has awarded Dutco McConnell Dowell Qatar Ltd the contract for the clean-up, repair and mechanical completion of Frozen Electrolytic Pots. The maintenance works are a result of a recent power outage at the smelter which requires an urgent clean-up and repair of the 444 shut down pots by 30th November 2010.
