The company is pleased to announce that Keppel Merlimau II Cogen Civil and Marine project in Singapore has been successfully completed and has achieved in excess of 1,250,000 man hours LTI free. McConnell Dowell were initially awarded the phase A civil works to provide the complete civil infrastructure for one KA26-1 single shaft turbine with an output of 400 megawatts. The company is pleased to announce that Rio Tinto have awarded McConnell Dowell the Tug Harbour Marine works for the Cape Lambert Port B Project, Western Australia. The scope includes marine works associated with the construction of a new tug pen, pontoons and access gangways. Following on from the success of the Rapid Growth Project 5, the Rapid Growth Project 6 Marine Works was awarded to McConnell Dowell by BHP Billiton Iron Ore Pty Ltd in May of 2010. The contract involved the construction of two additional iron ore export berths at Nelson Point inside the harbour at Port Hedland, Western Australia. The scope included 17 berthing dolphins, 16 topside modules and 300 piles.
