The Tahuna Ocean Outfall project in Dunedin, New Zealand was awarded the New Zealand Constructors Federation Award in Category 5 – projects exceeding $20 million – on Friday, 14th of August.The annual awards, which are open to all members of the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation, cover major civil engineering, construction and general contracting projects completed during the past year with judges paying specific attention to excellence in planning, control and quality by project teams.The project, which was completed in May 2009, included construction of a 510 m long tunnel from Tahuna Waste Water Treatment plant 250 m offshore beyond the surf zone. Dan received the award at the 2009 APIA Convention and Exhibition held in Cairns, Queensland on 19 October 2009. The company is pleased to announce that the Southern Regional Water Pipeline project has been recognised in the Alliancing Association of Australasia’s Excellence Awards with a High Commendation.  “The Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance Project began as a single regional infrastructure project in South East Queensland and grew to become a $1.3 billion program of works over an area spanning 200 km. The Company is pleased to advise that we were the recipient of multiple Safety and Environmental awards at the recent NZ Contractors’ Federation Awards night in Auckland. The Mechanical business was the Safety winner on the night in the projects under $500,000 category. The Rosedale Outfall project won two safety awards and one environmental award on the night. The project was the joint Safety winner (projects over $10 million) as well as joint winner over all categories. The project was also the joint Environmental winner (projects over $10 million). The Company is pleased to advise that the Techport Australia Common User Facility (CUF) won the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Project Management Achievement Award for an engineering / construction project in excess of $100 million on Friday, September 3.
