Bogong Hydro Power Project

The Bogong Power Development Project, awarded to McConnell Dowell as a design and construct (D&C) contract by AGL Southern Hydro, is the largest hydro power project constructed in Australia in 25 years. It consists of a network of tunnels and shafts and the construction of a new underground hydro electric power station in a picturesque national park near the Victorian ski fields at Falls Creek. The power station forms part of AGL Southern Hydro’s strategic energy framework for the supply of green peak demand power. Ambuklao & Binga Hydropower Plants Civil Works, Philippines, Award

Jakarta Tank Terminal project

The Company is pleased to announce the successful completion of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) works at Tanjung Priok, Indonesia on 14 February 2009 for PT Jakarta Tanker Terminal, a joint venture between Vopak and AKR. During the 11-hour pull back operation a 552 m long, 363 t pipe bundle consisting of nine steel and HDPE pipes ranging in diameter from 6 to 16 inches was pulled approximately 31 m below the sea bed.

Adelaide Desalination Preferred Bidder

The Company is pleased to advise that the AdelaideAqua consortium, which includes McConnell Dowell, has been named by South Australian Premier Mike Rann as the preferred bidder for construction of Adelaide’s new 50-gigalitre desalination plant to be built at Port Stanvac. The AdelaideAqua consortium companies comprise Australian-based McConnell Dowell, Spanish firm Acciona Agua, Abigroup and United Utilities.
