Our CSR Policy aims to reduce poverty; improve the quality of life and opportunities for disadvantaged groups through promotion of community based projects relating to self help, empowerment, capacity building and skills development. The CSR Policy also assists educational institutions in encouraging or increasing the number of mathematics and science students and relevant trade skills in order to contribute to the development of priority skills in our industry. Bogong Hydro Power Project

The Bogong Power Development Project, awarded to McConnell Dowell as a design and construct (D&C) contract by AGL Southern Hydro, is the largest hydro power project constructed in Australia in 25 years. It consists of a network of tunnels and shafts and the construction of a new underground hydro electric power station in a picturesque national park near the Victorian ski fields at Falls Creek. The power station forms part of AGL Southern Hydro’s strategic energy framework for the supply of green peak demand power. Rosedale AWTP Ocean Outfall Project

North Shore City Council awarded McConnell Dowell a design and construction contract for the new Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall Project in New Zealand. The new outfall will discharge high quality treated effluent from the plant 2.8 km out to sea into the Rangitoto Channel. The Company is pleased to announce that Dampier Bunbury Pipeline (DBP) has awarded McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd the DBNGP Stage 5B Looping contract in Western Australia. The project includes 440 km of 26” pipeline construction looping the existing DBNGP pipeline spread from Loop 0 near Karratha to Loop 10 east of Bunbury, W.A. The Dampier Bunbury Pipeline (DBP) awarded McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) Stage 5B Looping contract in Western Australia. The project includes 440 km of 26” pipeline construction looping the existing DBNGP pipeline spread from Loop 0 near Karratha to Loop 10 east of Bunbury, W.A. This is carried out in eleven separate loops. The initial two loops to be constructed (Loops 9 and 10) are adjacent to and North East and South of Perth respectively. Western Sydney Recycled Water Initiative Project Completion

The Company is pleased to announce the practical completion of the Western Sydney Recycled Water Initiative Project, with lines 2, 3 and 4 now fully connected. The existing sludge line (line 5) has also been upgraded to meet the higher pressures required for the current design. This project is a joint venture between McConnell Dowell, United Group Infrastructure and General Electric (Deerubbin Water Futures). GTO Wins Industry Award

The Company is pleased to announce that the Glenelg Tram Overpass (GTO) project has received an award for excellence at the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia Excellence Awards, held on Saturday, 8th of May. The project, a joint award submission with our client the South Australian Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI), won the Design and/or Construction of a Public Works Project category. In April 2009, DTEI awarded McConnell Dowell the design and construction contract for the project in Adelaide, South Australia. The works included the design and construction of an 8 span, 450 m long bridge for the grade separation of a tramline over a very busy arterial road in

Bogong Hydro Electric Scheme Industry Finalist

The Company is pleased to advise that the Bogong Hydro Electric Scheme project received a finalist award in the 2010 Australian Constructors Association Awards (ACAA) at the gala dinner recently held in Brisbane and attended by 400 industry leaders. The Award reflects the development of a culture within the construction industry which strives for world’s best practice and also recognises outstanding construction achievements.
