Southern Regional Water Pipeline Project
LinkWater, a new water infrastructure company formed by the Queensland Government in 2006 to manage the existing and long term potable water requirements of South East Queensland, awarded McConnnell Dowell, in joint venture, the Southern Regional Water Pipeline Project (SRWP).
One of LinkWater’s most important tasks was to oversee the construction of a new water grid with the flexibility and capacity to move large volumes of water throughout the growing region.
Northern Pipeline Interconnector Stage 2 – Queensland
The Company is pleased to advise the McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd as part of the Northern Network Alliance (NNA), have been awarded the Northern Interconnector Stage 2 Project (NPI) by LinkWater, a Queensland Government owned company.The NPI – Stage 2 is a vital piece of infrastructure designed to help secure the water supply for South East Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast.The works include planning, design, construction and commissioning of approximately 48 km of underground, reverse-flow pipeline which will connect the existing Northern Pipeline Interconnector (stage 1) at Eudlo to the Noosa Water Treatment Plant at Cooroy. Dan Morgan wins APIA Award
The Company is pleased to announce that Dan Morgan has been presented with the 2009 Australian Pipeline Industry Association (APIA) Young Achievement Award.
Dan received the award at the 2009 APIA Convention and Exhibition held in Cairns, Queensland on 19 October 2009. Noel Pearson, who is a notable advocate of Cape York Partnerships and Indigenous Land Rights in north Queensland, presented Dan with the award.

SRWP Project Wins ACEA Award
The Company is pleased to announce that the Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance has won a Gold Award in the transport and civil infrastructure category of the 2009 Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA) Awards for Excellence for its work on the South East Queensland Water Grid Interconnection pipeline system.
ACEA said “Quality and innovative engineering and management services played a key role in the successful delivery of a massive and complex project which is of critical benefit to communities in South East Queensland. The project clearly demonstrated the major benefits achieved by a highly integrated and successful alliance team.”
The South East Queensland Water Grid consists of 161 km
Braemar 3 Gas Pipeline - Project Award
The Company is pleased to advise the McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd have been selected by ERM as the preferred ECI contractor for the Braemar 3 gas pipeline in Queensland, Australia.The scope includes the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and pre-commissioning of a 16’’ x X70 pipeline and its associated facilities. The Braemar 3 pipeline will be tied in at the ’Kenya’ facility and will run generally south toward the New South Wales border for 155 km and connect to a new gas fired power plant.ERM intends to work with Macdow in an Early Contractor Involvement process with the aim of forming an EPC Contract by October 1, 2009.
Lake Manchester Dam Upgrade Award
The Company is pleased to announce that the Lake Manchester Dam Upgrade (LMDU) project received a High Commendation at the 2009 Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Awards, Queensland Division, for Excellence in Project Infrastructure. The awards were announced on 2 October 2009 at the Queensland Engineers Australia Branch Annual Dinner.
The Excellence Awards recognise the highest level of achievement in the engineering field. They provide peer recognition of outstanding engineering work as well as providing an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the invaluable contribution the engineering profession makes to the community.

SRWP Project Recognised at AAA
The company is pleased to announce that the Southern Regional Water Pipeline project has been recognised in the Alliancing Association of Australasia’s Excellence Awards with a High Commendation.
“The Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance Project began as a single regional infrastructure project in South East Queensland and grew to become a $1.3 billion program of works over an area spanning 200 km. Collaboration between participant companies and concurrent disciplines saw the project delivered on time and under budget despite the significant increase in scope,” said AAA Executive Director, Alain Mignot.
The awards, which were announced at the Alliancing Association of Australasia’s National Convention on 22 and 23 October in Melbourne, recognise excellence

SRWP Runners-up in Chevron Award
We are pleased to announce that the Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance Project (SRWP) was awarded runner-up status in the 2007 Chevron Health and Safety awards announced at the International Pipeline & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA) conference in Athens on 2 October 2008.

APLNG Project Contract Award
The Company is pleased to announce the MC JV, a joint venture between McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) have been awarded an early works contract by Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) Limited, a 50:50 coal seam gas (CSG) to LNG joint venture company co-owned by Origin Energy Limited (Origin) and ConocoPhillips. The early works scope for the APLNG pipelines includes:
Complete and deliver FEED;
Assist with project planning and procurement; and
Execute early works as required.
The contract commenced in December 2009 and MC JV will complete the Early Works Scope.
Under the terms of the contract MC JV will work with APLNG to execute an EPC contract for the
Ergon Energy Asset Inspection Contract Award
The Company is pleased to advise that Electrix Australia has been awarded a further Asset Inspection Contract for Ergon Energy’s Central Queensland region for a period of 3+1+1 years.
The Project Office has been established in Rockhampton for 8 years, and securing this new Contract is a result of hard work and continuous improvement by the Electrix team. The Contract will have more than 50 employees and contractors, spread across Central Queensland from Bowen to Bundaberg, and as far outback as Birdsville.

Thrust Frame Sickle Damper: Baltec Inlet & Exhaust Systems Pty Ltd Australia has awarded a contract for the fabrication of a Thrust Frame Sickle Damper, for Queensland Nickle.
Chatree North Gold Project: Outotec Pty Ltd. has awarded a contract for the fabrication of one 30M Dia. High Rate Thickener for the Chatree North Gold Project.
