Bridgewater Bridge Project Award

MacDow has been awarded the contract for the refurbishment of the Bridgewater Bridge in Tasmania by the Department of infrastructure, Energy & Resources (DIER). The project includes the refurbishment of the mechanical system used to open and close the bridge, as well as the overall refurbishment of the structural support and electrical systems. The work also includes the repainting of the under structure of the bridge. The work involves some intricate mechanical installations which will have to be carried out with minimal disruptions to the traffic flow on the bridge. MCG Concourse High Commendation

The Company is pleased to announce that the MCG Concourse Redevelopment Project received a High Commendation at the 2009 Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Awards, Victorian Division, for Excellence in infrastructure Projects (up to $20million). The awards were announced on Thursday, September 17 at the Victorian Engineers Australia Branch Dinner. The Excellence Awards recognise the highest level of achievement in the engineering field. Western Sydney Recycled Water Initiative Project Completion

The Company is pleased to announce the practical completion of the Western Sydney Recycled Water Initiative Project, with lines 2, 3 and 4 now fully connected. The existing sludge line (line 5) has also been upgraded to meet the higher pressures required for the current design. This project is a joint venture between McConnell Dowell, United Group infrastructure and General Electric (Deerubbin Water Futures). South Road Upgrade Project Award

The Company is pleased to advise that Built Environs has been awarded the contract to upgrade a heavily-used 1.5km section of South Road, Old Noarlunga, for the South Australian Department of Transport, Energy and infrastructure (DTEI). The Built Environs engineering team will be upgrading two major signalised intersections, involving the movement of around 10,000m3 of earthworks and 22,000t of profiling and asphalt works. The work will ultimately help with the management of current and future peak traffic volumes to and from Adelaide and the growing southern suburbs region, including Victor Harbour. North Melbourne Station Upgrade Wins CCF Award

Koniambo Construction Works Packages Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that the Socalmo MacDow Joint Venture has been awarded 20 Construction Works Packages by Koniambo Nickel SAS (KNS) for the Koniambo Nickel project in New Caledonia. The scope of works in the packages awarded includes the construction of above & underground pipe works, storage tanks, overland conveyors, an ore preparation plant and civil works. Construction is expected to commence on site in September 2010. Rail Safety Accreditation secured for Victoria

The Company is pleased to announce we have secured rail safety accreditation in Victoria. We are now a fully accredited Rolling Stock Operator and are able to run our newly purchased rail plant on all railways across the state to do construction and maintenance work. Northern Pipeline Interconnector Stage 2 – Queensland

Komo Airfield, PNG, Contract Award

APLNG Project Contract Award

The Company is pleased to announce the MC JV, a joint venture between McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) have been awarded an early works contract by Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) Limited, a 50:50 coal seam gas (CSG) to LNG joint venture company co-owned by Origin Energy Limited (Origin) and ConocoPhillips. The early works scope for the APLNG pipelines includes: Complete and deliver FEED; Assist with project planning and procurement; and Execute early works as required.
