The Company is pleased to advise that Built Environs has been selected by the Government of South Australia's Department for Families and Communities as the preferred contractor for the 102 Waymouth Street Urban Development project.
The Waymouth Street Urban Development project is a 16-storey commercial residential building in the Adelaide CBD. When completed, the building will have a gross floor area of 13,300m2 and provide 138 units for a mix of rental, affordable sale and commercial sale housing. The ground floor will include an administrative and retail area, while parking will be provided for 36 cars in a triple-stack car-lift.
Some of the challenges expected with this project include:
- Construction methodology for structure, precast facade, internal / external finishes;
- Cranage, façade access and access to high levels;
- Material deliveries and storage;
- Separation from and protection of the adjacent Queens Theatre;
- Site accommodation;
- Site establishment and management, including protection and monitoring;
- Site logistics;
- Site separation from the public; and
- Traffic management.
Work is expected to start on the project this month and be completed by late November 2011.
