The Company is pleased to announce that the New Zealand office has been awarded the first phase (SP2) of the Wairakei Road to Yaldhurst Road Four Laning ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) project, in joint venture with Downer NZ Ltd.
The client is NZTA and the project scope of works, which extends over approximately 4km of State Highway, is split into three Separable Portions as follows:
- Separable Portion 1 (SP1) – Widening State Highway 1 (Russley Road) to 4 lanes from Wairakei Road to Yaldhurst Road;
- Separable Portion 2 (SP2) – Detailed design and consenting of the Memorial Avenue / Russley Road intersection improvements (grade separation); and
- Separable Portion 3 (SP3) – Construction of the new grade separated Memorial Avenue / Russley Road interchange.
The SP2 phase of the project is expected to take one year. The SP1 works are programmed to commence this year and the SP3 works after the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and both are expected to require 20 months (2 summers) to complete.
