The Company is pleased to advise that the alliance agreement was signed in Christchurch on Thursday 22 September for the rebuild of Christchurch’s earthquake damaged infrastructure.
The Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT) Alliance comprises Christchurch City Council, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, New Zealand Transport Agency, City Care, McConnell Dowell, Downer, Fulton Hogan and Fletcher Construction.
This important step formalises the interim agreement signed by the Alliance on 3 May 2011, and marks the transition from the Infrastructure Recovery Management Organisation (IRMO) repair works to the more permanent rebuilding works being undertaken by the Alliance.
The Alliance is responsible for the repair and rebuilding of the earthquake damaged infrastructure of Christchurch and this work is expected to take five years. This includes horizontal infrastructure of roads, water, wastewater and storm water facilities.
