The Company is pleased to announce that Built Environs Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract to build the new South Australian Police (SAPOL) headquarters in Adelaide by Commercial & General.
The 10-storey concrete building (including basement) is being designed to achieve a five star Greenstar rating - including the use of natural energy for a healthy working environment - and will feature an open plan office space, curtain wall glazing and extra security features, including special ballistic bullet-proof glass.
Built Environs will construct the building while maintaining emergency vehicle access to the rear of the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service facility on Wakefield Street.
Towards the end of the program Built Environs will also work with the client’s fitout contractor on site while building works are ongoing.
Work is scheduled to start on 25 November 2009, with a late-July 2011 handover date.
