The FAST JV has awarded the first of their Monthly Safety Awards to McConnell Dowell. The Safety Awards take into account all contractors working on RGP 5 (Rapid Growth Project 5 Marine Works) Port Development works for BHP Billiton Iron Ore.

The safety crew flag was presented by Steve Carter, Marine Superintendent FAST JV to Hale Bray, Safety Representative and the Temporary Construction Load Out Facility work group (TCLOF).

This safety award was awarded in recognition for continued safety performance and effort that the TCLOF team has shown towards safety. This included but not limited to setting up of the TCLOF area, crane and heavy lift operations, house keeping, plant and equipment, personnel interaction, risk management and the standard of their JHAs (job hazard assessments) and Take 5s (Occupational Health & Safety Five Step Program).

The FAST JV (Fluor & SKM Team) is a joint venture between Fluor Australia and SKM to develop and deliver iron ore projects to meet the global market demand forecast for BHP Billiton Iron Ore.
