The Company is pleased to announce that PT Bluescope Steel has awarded PT McConnell Dowell Indonesia the Badak Project Coating Line mechanical works.
The mechanical works forms part of PT Bluescope Steel’s brown field development of their coated products plant at Cilegon and the scope of work includes:
- Structural steel assembly and erection;
- Coil loading and unloading facility;
- Joining and strip transport equipment;
- Coil wrapping and packing;
- Thermal equipment such as furnace, chemical and paint curing ovens;
- Ducting installation;
- Installation of stacks and cooling water system; and
- Piping and hydraulic supply and installation.
Upon completion the new plant will be capable of producing 175,000 tonne per annum of Zincalume steel product, with some of the metallic coated product pre-painted in line.
This project award follows on from the civil contract awarded to McConnell Dowell for this project and further consolidates the relationship with Bluescope in Indonesia that has existed since the 1990s.
