GM Diesel Engine Plant Safety Achievement

The General Motors Diesel Engine Plant project in Thailand recently achieved 250,000 man-hours LTI free. Orchard MRT to Tangs Plaza Underpass Upgrade Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that McConnell Dowell South East Asia Pte Ltd has been awarded the design and construct contract for the Orchard MRT to Tangs Plaza Underpass Upgrade project by the Singapore Land Transport Authority. The underground link, which was originally built by McConnell Dowell, will be upgraded between Orchard MRT and Tangs Plaza. The upgrade will involve the expansion of the pedestrian capacity of the existing underpass, as well as providing for new underground retail areas. The dimensions of the underpass are 46m long x 36m wide and 10m deep. Design commences immediately with site works due to begin in July for a 43 month duration.   ENDS About



Toka Tinding Mine Gold Processing Plant Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that PT McConnell Dowell Indonesia (MDI) has been awarded the construction of a gold processing plant by PT Tambang Tondano Nusajaya at their Toka Tinding mine site in North Sulawesi. The project includes earthworks, civil, structural, tanks, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and commissioning of the plant. Bogong Hydro Electric Scheme Industry Finalist

The Company is pleased to advise that the Bogong Hydro Electric Scheme project received a finalist award in the 2010 Australian Constructors Association Awards (ACAA) at the gala dinner recently held in Brisbane and attended by 400 industry leaders. The Award reflects the development of a culture within the construction industry which strives for world’s best practice and also recognises outstanding construction achievements. Ergon Energy Asset Inspection Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that Electrix Australia has been awarded a further Asset Inspection Contract for Ergon Energy’s Central Queensland region for a period of 3+1+1 years. The Project Office has been established in Rockhampton for 8 years, and securing this new Contract is a result of hard work and continuous improvement by the Electrix team. IRPC Natural Gas Pipeline Project Achievement

The Company is pleased to advise that the HDD team on the IRPC Natural Gas Pipeline Project in Rayong, Thailand, successfully completed a 1,877 m long horizontal directional drill using the intersect technique on Wednesday, 2 June. The drill was completed using McConnell Dowell's American Auger DD625 rig in conjunction with two other HDD rigs supplied by our subcontractor, Strega. The team used the 280 tonne capacity DD625 rig to drill a 121/4" dia. pilot hole at depths of approximately 30 metres over a length of 1,817 metres. Due to the softness of the soil formation at the far end, steering past this point became difficult. This rig was equipped with the



Vatia Bay Shoreline Protection Award of Excellence

The Company is pleased to advise that on the 20th May, McConnell Dowell (American Samoa) Ltd was presented with an Outstanding Performance Award by the United States Army Corps of Engineers for the Vatia Bay Shoreline Protection Project, Tutuilla Island, American Samoa. The project involved the construction of an 890 foot long "Samoa Stone" armoured revetment along the shoreline of Vatia Bay. This was the first project ever constructed using the unique "Samoa Stone." An additional challenge was maintaining awareness and sensitivity to the Samoan customs of this remote village. The ingenuity, experience and technical expertise demonstrated by MacDow throughout the project ensured construction was completed with high quality and four months



Marina Bay Sands Safety Achievement

The Company is pleased to advise that the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (MBSIR) Project in Singapore has achieved 1,000,000 man-hours LTI free. The 40 acre MBSIR includes three 50 storey hotel towers, linked at the top by a two acre sky garden; 90 000m² of retail outlets, a casino and museum; state-of-the art convention centre, 5,000m² event plaza and two 2,000 seat theatres. McConnell Dowell is undertaking construction of a continuous piled promenade deck, special events plaza superstructure and two special large diameter circular cofferdams for the exclusive semi-submerged crystal pavilions in the bay complete with underwater tunnel access to the casino. This project has showcased how safety begins at the top



Western Power Asset Inspection Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that Electrix has been awarded a contract by Western Power for its Asset Inspection Services. The contract scope will include asset inspection services across 50% of Western Power's electricity network in the South Western corner of Western Australia. The contract period is for an initial two year term with an option for a further one year extension. The mobilisation period for the works has commenced with field works to commence early July. The contract will see the opening of a new regional office and depot, firmly establishing Electrix in Western Australia. This contract award comes off the back of a strategic decision by Electrix



PARS Project Safety Achievement

The Company is pleased to advise that the PARS Project in Singapore has achieved 2,000,000 man-hours LTI free. This is a credit to all our employees, their positive attitude to safety, the implementation and adherence to our systems and our close working relationship with our client, Foster Wheeler Worley Parsons, and the refinery owner and operator, Exxon Mobil that has resulted in such a significant safety milestone being achieved. Ta\'u Road Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that McConnell Dowell (American Samoa) Limited has been awarded the contract to carry out repairs to the cyclone damaged main road and to install new sea wall revetment on the island of Ta'u in American Samoa. The funding is being provided by the Federal Highways Administration of the United States Department of Transportation to fix the road on Ta'u after it was struck by Cyclone Heta in 2004 and Cyclone Olaf in 2005. The design and construction of the project is being administered by the US Army Corps of Engineers in Honolulu. Lock and Weir 15 Contract Award

The Company is pleased to advise that Built Environs has been awarded the contract for the upgrade of the navigable pass, fishways and ancillary works at Lock and Weir 15 on the River Murray at Robinvale on the Victorian and New South Wales border. The contract will be signed with State Water of New South Wales, with the work scheduled to start in two weeks and be finished in a year’s time.
