The Company is pleased to advise that the Techport Australia Common User Facility (CUF) project was awarded a 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Award at the recent awards dinner in Canberra, ACT.
The project was designed and constructed for Defence SA by the McConnell Dowell Built Environs JV, with designer Aurecon, and specialist ship-lift company Rolls-Royce, and all parties jointly submitted the award.
CUF was one of just six award-winning projects chosen from a national field of 44 state and territory finalists by Engineers Australia.
The Engineering Excellence Award acknowledges the professionalism and pursuit of excellence by engineers throughout the country and is one of the most prestigious awards in Australia to give peer validation of innovative engineering capability.
This national award follows the two South Australian Engineering Excellence Awards and the AIPM Project Management Achievement Award received in September, the MBA award for engineering excellence in August and the CCF Earth Award in July - a stunning six awards in total.
The project is now in contention for the Australian Constructors Association Construction Excellence award where the finalists are announced next week.
