Batam Fabrication Facility 3 million man hours LTI free

The company is very pleased to advise that PT McConnell Dowell Services (Batam Fabrication Facility) has achieved 3 million man hours without LTI for the 12 months of January 2010 to December 2010.

During the year the yard has completed over 4000 t of fabricated steelwork, 28,000 dia inch of pipe welding, and 1,400 m3 of precast concrete. Staff numbers during this period fluctuated between 800 and 1,050 depending on the workload at the time.

As the yard has been running now for over 10 years it is recognised that the yard must maintain continual interest and engagement from the workforce in regards to safe work practices. This is achieved by constantly implementing new safety initiatives and training programs, and by running monthly campaigns to target high risk yard specific activities.

Congratulations to everyone working at the yard for achieving this significant safety milestone.
