The Company is pleased to advise that Australian Submarine and Shipbuilding Company (ASC) has awarded Built Environs a contract to construct the Air Warfare Destroyer Outfit Support Towers at the Techport Australia Common User Facility (CUF) in South Australia, and fit out the Air Warfare Destroyer Blast and Paint Facility at the adjacent ASC shipyard.
The Outfit Support Towers package involves the construction of two six-storey 37 m by 7 m steel-structured towers that will be used to assemble the new Air Warfare Destroyers for the Royal Australian Navy.
The scope also includes facilities for the towers including amenities, lunch rooms and offices, as well as open storage areas, store rooms, tool stores and workshops, with a central stairway and external man and material hoists.
The smaller Blast and Paint Facility package involves the fitting-out of an existing ASC building with new acoustic, dust and fume insulating lining, integration of ASC-sourced blast and paint equipment, and installation of supporting services and structure, including a new 12 m high 55 m long steel awning.
The project commences immediately with a 37 week contract duration.
