Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline Stage 5B Looping Project
The Dampier Bunbury Pipeline (DBP) awarded McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) Stage 5B Looping contract in Western Australia.
The project includes 440 km of 26” pipeline construction looping the existing DBNGP pipeline spread from Loop 0 near Karratha to Loop 10 east of Bunbury, W.A. This is carried out in eleven separate loops.
The initial two loops to be constructed (Loops 9 and 10) are adjacent to and North East and South of Perth respectively. Loop 10 is the first loop to be commenced closely followed by Loop 9 which runs through the Swan Valley which includes both residential and vineyard areas. Construction
Pike River Coal Mine
The Pike River Coal Mining Company awarded McConnell Dowell the design and construct (D&C) contract for Pike River Coal Mine Project, which is located within the confines of the Paparoa National Park, 46 km east of Greymouth on New Zealand’s South Island.
The mine will produce 1 million tonnes of hard coking coal per annum for the next 20 years. McConnell Dowell's works included the construction of a 2.3 km mine access tunnel, associated passing bays and sumps for this landmark project.
Sentosa Seawall & Reclamation
Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd awarded McConnell Dowell the design and construct (D&C) contract for the Sentosa Seawall and Land Reclamation Project in Singapore.Resorts World are developing an integrated resort which will include six hotels, casino and a Universal Theme Park on Sentosa Island.

Common User Facility Project
McConnell Dowell, in joint venture with our subsidiary Built Environs, was selected by DefenceSA to deliver the Common User Facility (CUF) project. The CUF project forms part of Techport Australia – the country's premier naval industry hub being developed at Osborne, South Australia. The facility will support Australian Submarine Corporation to deliver the Royal Australian Navy’s next generation $8 billion Air Warfare Destroyers (AWD) and attract other shipbuilding and repair opportunities.
Perth Desalination Plant Mechanical Installation Works

Helios Terminals Corporation awarded McConnell Dowell an engineer, procure and construct (EPC) contract for mechanical and civil works associated with their new liquid storage and blending facility on Jurong Island. MacDow procured and constructed tank foundations; pipe racks; bund walls; valve and pump manifold; piping; loading arms; jetty topsides; and other facilities including offices.

Rosedale AWTP Ocean Outfall Project
North Shore City Council awarded McConnell Dowell a design and construction contract for the new Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall Project in New Zealand. The new outfall will discharge high quality treated effluent from the plant 2.8 km out to sea into the Rangitoto Channel.

From Bridge to Underpass
The Department for Transport, Energy & Infrastructure of South Australia (DTEI) awarded McConnell Dowell an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contract for the replacement of the dilapidated Bakewell Bridge with an underpass in Adelaide, South Australia. Used by 25,000 cars per day, the 80 year old bridge formed a vital arterial into Adelaide's CBD.
Working with DTEI on South Australia's first ECI project, the team developed and assessed a number of configurations to find a solution that best balanced community, technical and cost parameters. Pilbara Iron Ore Infrastructure - Phase A & B
Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) awarded McConnell Dowell the design and construct (D&C) contract for the Pilbara Iron Ore Infrastructure Project at Port Hedland in Western Australia. FMG is positioning itself as the third major iron ore producer in Australia.
MacDow's scope of work included a load-out berth, a lay-by berth and navigation aids. The load-out berth comprises a 100 m long approach jetty complete with roadway and elevated conveyor trusses; a transfer station platform with wharf conveyor, drive and belt change-out areas; and a wharf structure to supports the shiploader. Bogong Hydro Power Project
The Bogong Power Development Project, awarded to McConnell Dowell as a design and construct (D&C) contract by AGL Southern Hydro, is the largest hydro power project constructed in Australia in 25 years. Southern Regional Water Pipeline Project
LinkWater, a new water infrastructure company formed by the Queensland Government in 2006 to manage the existing and long term potable water requirements of South East Queensland, awarded McConnnell Dowell, in joint venture, the Southern Regional Water Pipeline Project (SRWP).
One of LinkWater’s most important tasks was to oversee the construction of a new water grid with the flexibility and capacity to move large volumes of water throughout the growing region.
