Graduate Program
As a Graduate working for McConnell Dowell you will be working for one of the most successful companies within the construction industry. McConnell Dowell is a world class engineering, construction and maintenance contractor with business units in Civil and Marine, Mechanical, Pipelines and Tunnelling.
McConnell Dowell delivers projects across a diversity of markets and heavy industry sectors including civil infrastructure; industrial plants; mining and metals; oil and gas; petrochemical and chemical; power; transportation and water.

Each year we recruit graduates in the following disciplines:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Applied Science - Building Construction
- Applied Science - Construction Management
- Applied Science - Quantity Surveying
Graduate Engineers support the pre-qualification and tender processes, with genuine opportunities to progress to more senior positions based on performance as part of a structured training program. After initial training of approximately one year, Graduates move to projects as Site Engineers.

To further enhance career progression, Graduates complete specifically designed Technical and Management and Leadership modules as part of the MacDow Learning and Development program.
In addition to the Learning and Development program, McConnell Dowell offer the opportunity for Graduates to become Chartered Engineers through partnership with Engineers Australia.
Graduates participate in the Professional Development Program over a period of approximately three years. During this time, they are appointed a mentor who is an experienced Engineer who provides support and guidance, sharing the wealth of their knowledge and experience.
