The Pipelines business unit has delivered well over 100 pipelines and of these 40 were on an EPC or D&C basis, both locally and internationally. Our gas pipeline experience ranges up to 1300mm (50”) in diameter. Recent major water infrastructure pipelines have ranged up to 1800mm (70”) in diameter, demanding heavy equipment, heavy lifts, welding, deep trenches and tight easements.

Projects undertaken have so often been in extremely challenging environments. These vary from environmentally sensitive areas, rural, remote and congested urban areas.

The pipeline team are specialists at working with remote area communities to ensure maximum participation by local businesses, whilst minimising disruption to local community life.

McConnell Dowell also has extensive experience in delivering facilities associated with oil & gas pipelines, such as off-take connections, block valves, MLVs, scraper stations, metering stations, pressure regulation stations, vents, station terminals and compressor stations. Similarly, water pipeline facilities have included water storages, balancing tanks, pump stations and treatment facilities.
